SET retreats after failing to stay above 1,700 | Bangkok Post: business


The Stock Exchange of Thailand continued to test 1,700 for the second trading day on Monday but retreated after failing to stand above the key level last seen in 1994. Total trading value was 47.9 billion baht, with 22.3 billion shares changed hands. Foreigners bought a net 702.9 billion baht, followed by individual investors (39.4 million). Brokers sold 485.9 million, followed by institutional investors (259.5 million baht). Year-to-date, institutional investors were net buyers of 63.2 billion baht, followed by brokers (10.8 billion) and foreigners (12.3 billion baht).
